What We Do

Memorial Day Parade - 2007

Every May our committee prepares for participation in the town's annual Memorial Day Parade. It all starts at the Region 14 Middle School where we assemble our float and line up to make our way over to Main Street. From the corner of Church Street the procession makes it's way through the center of town down to Cannon Green. Crowds of onlookers lining the street are waving and applauding. At the Green the celebration comes to asolemn close with a moving memorial service and the placing of a wreath at the civil war memorial.

Town Committee members ready the float before the parade.

The WRTC hosted a luncheon reception to honor all those who served on the various Woodbury Boards and Commissions.  Here are some photos from the event:

Annual Adopt-A-Road Clean Up

Each April the members of the town committee hit the streets (literally) to support the Adopt-A-Road program sponsored by the Woodbury Conservation Commission.  Our task is to clean up the section of Middle Road Turnpike between Main Street (Rt. 6) and Quassapaug Road.  Please contact one of our members or email if you would like to help out next time!

Community Services Christmas Gift Certificate Program December 2005

The WRTC participated in the Woodbury Community Services Council’s 2005 Christmas Gift Certificate Program.  As a group, we provided gift certificates from local retailers and presented them to Sandy Ingellis, CSC’s Executive Director.  Through the generous works of the CSC, we were able to brighten the lives of people in need during the Christmas Season.
